Volunteering at ReDI Copenhagen
Become a part of the ReDI community and make an impact!
We are a non-profit organization that relies on volunteers in all of our activities. As a volunteer, you make ReDI School a reality and support our students in creating new opportunities for themselves.
ReDI School is supported by the tech industry and by civil society, who teach, coach and support our students.
Support our students in building a bright future
You can volunteer in many ways: you can join as a teacher to teach the students digital skills, you can join as a career coach to help the students find jobs or you can join as a childcarer to take care of the students’ children.

Volunteer Teacher:
As a teacher at ReDI School, you plan classes, make teaching material and teach the students. You can teach the following courses:
Computer til Hverdag
Computer til Job
User Experience
User Interface
Introduction to Front-end Development
Introduction to Data Analytics
AI Fundamentals
Cloud Computing Fundamentals
Cybersecurity Fundamentals
Cybersecurity Administration
What does teaching entail?
You will be part of a teaching team of approximately 5-7 teachers. On the team, you split the classes between you and take turns to teach. You will be teaching approximately every other week together with 1-2 teachers from your team. Together, you help students develop their digital skills, while you develop your competencies as teachers.
You commit to teaching 6 out of 12 classes and can expect spending approximately 10 hours a month.
Career Coaching:
As a volunteer career coach you mentor and coach the students individually. You are matched with the student based on your preferences and background and might even have two or more students in a coaching group. Group sessions can work well, because students can also benefit from each other's career experiences and network.
What does the coaching programme entail?
Together we have coaching training each semester where we learn about communication and steering the conversation. A few weeks after you are matched with the students and have the first introduction meeting. During the next 6 months you meet regularly with your students and talk about their personal and professional development. We offer a curriculum and structured programme, but you are welcome to adjust it to your own preferences. We recommend at least a monthly meeting and keeping in touch with each other in between sessions. The students are in charge of doing the homework, thinking work, and taking charge of their own development, but the coach motivates and facilitates this process.
At the end of the semester we have a graduation ceremony and celebrate your hard work and dedication to the programme.
Volunteer Childcarer:
You will take care of the learners’ children, while they have classes in ReDI School. Our courses and activities are usually outside normal office hours, so it can be difficult to get child care. You get the opportunity to be creative and create nice experiences with the children, while their mothers are improving their digital skills.
What does it take to be a child carer in ReDI School?
You have to be able to commit to coming to ReDI School at least every 2nd week for 4-5 hours and remain stable throughout the semester. We also need to be able to get a certificate from the police that you are allowed to work with children.
