ReDI Career Track: User-Centered Design

Course Overview

The User Experience course introduces you to the core principles of UX design, including user research, prototyping, and usability testing. Through hands-on projects and collaborative learning, you’ll gain practical skills and experience in creating intuitive, user-centred digital products. If you are interested in or new to UX and want to expand your skills, this course will provide a foundation for entering the field.

  • In this course, you will develop a deep understanding of:

    • Qualitative and Quantitative Research: Learn to conduct thorough user research using both qualitative and quantitative methods to gain valuable insights. Analyze user data to inform design decisions and improve user experiences.

    • Wireframing and Testing: Create wireframes using Figma, and test and refine them.

    • Project-Oriented Work: Apply your knowledge in practical, project-based scenarios that simulate real-world UX challenges.

    • You identify as: A woman or nonbinary

    • You have a high level in English: Ensuring you can understand and engage with course materials.

    • You are digitally comfortable:  You have a basic understanding of digital tools and technologies.

    • You have a high interest in: User Experience, user-centric design and are eager to develop new skills with UX design tools like Figma.

    • You can commit: Commit to attending classes regularly and participating actively to at least 10 out of 12 classes.

    • Networking Events: Participate in networking events to connect with industry professionals, peers, and potential employers.

    • Career Coaching: Apply for a career coach to guide you in your professional journey and receive guidance from professionals in the IT industry.

    • Career & Soft Skills Workshops: Participate in workshops designed to empower you and to improve your career readiness and soft skills.

    • ReDI Alumni Network: Become a part of the ReDI Alumni Network and the ReDI community

    • SkillsBuild Self-paced eLearning: Utilize self-paced learning modules by IBM and ReDI School to further enhance your skills.

    • ReDI School Certification: Earn a ReDI School Certification if you attend 10 out of 12 classes.

    These supplementary activities are designed to complement your learning, provide real-world exposure, help you build a strong network, and support your career growth in User Experience.
