It’s a Match! Olga and Capgemini, Finding New Paths

Life often takes us to unexpected places, challenging us to adapt, grow, and find new paths. For Olga Soloschenko, moving to Berlin marked the beginning of her transformative journey. With a background in engineering and accounting and a passion for learning, she was ready to embrace whatever came her way.

In Ukraine, Olga built a diverse career, transitioning from accounting to thriving in the hotel industry’s sales department to working as an assistant manager. Due to the war Olga had to move to Berlin and faced new challenges. “I realized my qualifications and experience didn’t easily transfer here, and my German language skills weren’t strong enough,” Olga recalls.

Determined to continue her professional growth, Olga discovered ReDI School. “I didn’t expect to live in Germany,” she says. “But ReDI School came at the perfect time. I enrolled in their UX Design program, which allowed me to channel my creativity and technical skills into a new career path.”

At ReDI School, Olga found more than just education; she found a supportive community. “We met twice a week, once in person and once online,” she explains.

“The in person classes were especially meaningful. We worked on projects together, which was incredibly engaging. The instructors, who are IT experts volunteering with real-world experience, were inspiring and helpful.”

In parallel to her classes Olga also engaged in the ReDI Mentorship program. With the help of her mentor, a human resource (HR) expert from Microsoft, Olga created a compelling portfolio and refined her CV. “My mentor was instrumental in my success,” she says. “He helped me prepare for interviews, practice my presentation skills, and build confidence in my abilities.”

In early August, Olga applied for an internship at Capgemini, using ReDI School’s “Talent Pool.” Having a B1 level German, she secured the position. “As a designer, speaking German is crucial, and I missed some opportunities because of it,” Olga admits. “But I’m thrilled to have this internship. It’s a step in the right direction, and I’m committed to improving my language skills.”

Olga’s journey with ReDI School has shown resilience and dedication to creating a new life for herself. She balanced her studies with German classes, reaching a B2 level and continuing to push forward. “I remind myself that I can do hard things. Leaving Ukraine was challenging, but I recognized the opportunity to learn and work remotely in something I love.”

She advises others who are embarking on their learning journey to believe in themselves and trust that they will find their place and trust in your abilities. “You know more than you think you do, take the extra time to learn and grow. Even when it feels difficult, remember that every challenge is an opportunity to build resilience and achieve your goals.”

Olga’s story is a shining example of how embracing curiosity and continuous learning can lead to new and fulfilling career paths. ReDI School provided her with the skills, support, and community she needed to succeed in her new home. “ReDI School is doing great things, helping people like me find new opportunities and build successful careers in Germany,” she concludes.

Through ReDI School, Olga not only found a new career in UX design but also a renewed sense of purpose and possibility in her life. Her journey is an inspiring reminder that with determination, support, and a willingness to learn, we can overcome any challenge and thrive in new environments.
